Did JPMorgan Pop The Student Loan Bubble?

I haven't been following the student loan bubble as obsessively as I followed the housing bubble, but the pattern is the same.

I didn't think the powers that be would be successful in blowing another bubble after the housing bubble. Now I just wonder what the next one will be. Other than U.S. debt, I mean.

The student loan bubble is going to be a huge mess, and is a primary reason why I am seeking to transition out of my career in higher ed. The bullshit idea of "everyone should go to college" will rapidly fold in upon itself just as "everyone should own a home" did. It's an oversimplification, probably, to equate vocational training with renting, but the marginalization of each is equally unsound. Our economy needs tradesmen, and it needs a realistic rental market. It does not need degreed ditch-diggers, or PhDs managing a McDonalds, who are carrying mortgages while trying to support families.
